Forever Young

1. I am so sorry for saying something that I didn’t mean, and leaving you hanging with nothing, but silence. You deserve better than what I could give you. I hope that someday, you’ll understand.

2. You have always been my best friend, and my hero. If anything is ever wrong, you’re the first person I go to. I’ll always be on your side no matter what happens, and no matter what I’d lose in the process.

3. This summer, we’re gonna live fast, party hard, and make it last forever.

4. You make me laugh in a matter of seconds, and you’re one of the nicest people I’ve ever met.  You care a lot, too. It’s obvious with everything you do. I am so blessed to have you around. Besides my brother, you’re my best friend.

5. Why we are still in contact today, amazes me. You’ve never changed, and have always been there. You define the word loyal in my world.

6. Even though you may be high sometimes, you’re the one person that I can talk to about a certain things, that only you’d understand. You, and I are so close, and I’m forever grateful.

7. When I say things will be okay to you, I have this feeling that they won’t be. If I could describe it, I would. I just want you to know that I’m not going down without a fight.

8. I remember telling you a few years ago that you were my hero. Honestly, that hasn’t changed. When I have a daughter, I want her to be just like you. I look up to you more than you’ll ever know.

9. You’re not half as cool as you think you are, and when your world comes crashing down, I’m not going to be there. Or at least that’s what I try to convince myself.

10. If you stopped acting so defensive, and tough of all the time, you might have an easier time connecting with people.

11. I thank God for you every single night.

12. You’re an awesome person. The greatest wiffleball comeback last summer, times at camp, Tabasco, the epic fight over the lock, The Fugitive, Hodgeman’s  on summer nights. Those are times I wouldn’t replace for anything.

13. Just because we pick on you a lot, doesn’t mean we don’t love you. You’re an awesome kid, and I’m so proud of the way you’ve grown up. Just be prepared, we’re still gonna catch you with your pants down.

14. I remember how much we used to fight. Thinking back on it now, I realize how ridiculous it was. I  just want you to know, that no matter what, I’ll always be on your side, and here for you with anything. I love having you around. Don’t change.

15. Miles on the road, sunsets, never going to bed, and staying up for the sunrise, that place under the bridge, sitting on the grass listening to fireworks, but not seeing them, man hunt, sleeping under the stars.  I wish those times would have lasted longer. I miss you, man.

16. I know our relationship is in shreds, we have nothing. But I want you to know, all I’ve ever wanted to do is make you proud. I’ve done a great job with that since I’ve been 12, huh? I’ve screwed up so much, and I’m going to turn this around. I want to be just like you.
